Review - Anchor Leg by Jack Croxall @JackCroxall

Stranded 750 million miles from Earth. Stranded with a saboteur, stranded with a killer.

Humanity has spilled out into the Solar System, into a succession of giant space stations known as the Relay. Seren Temples is a security apprentice running the Relay’s remote Anchor Leg. When sabotage strands her vessel near another damaged ship, Seren and her team are sent across to investigate. The second ship is a zero-G graveyard. Inside its vast hold, nothing but a single vial of frozen blood.

Review -  At first I felt like the Author was condescending, that means talking down to me. Once I got over that I got settled in my seat and let Croxall take me on my merry way, across the galaxy that is.

Great mystery and story of a fish out of water trying to breath and save a whole star base alone from terrorists and pirates without crossing the line. So much is going on and so many characters to follow but only adds to the complex, rich environment that Croxwell offers to tell his story in.

It is a big story that focuses in on a razor's edge to tell a galaxy sized story and unravels a galaxy sized mystery. Pick it up and enjoy this story.

Review - Guardians of Eden by Graham Carter

A thousand years have passed since Adam and Eve were cast from the Garden of Eden. Their descendants have multiplied and spread across the face of the planet. In recent times rumours have begun to spread regarding a strange race of beings, the Nephilim, said to be the giant offspring of unholy alliances between the fallen sons of God and women of great beauty.

Life in Thalan’s tiny, seaside village seems a world away from such events until the day servants of a Nephilim king arrive looking for him. Could it be that seventeen year-old Thalan holds the key to the downfall of these powerful giants? And what is the significance of the ancient prophecy about the seed of Eve crushing the serpent’s head? The answers lie in a quest to find the legendary Garden of Eden and the fabled Tree of Life that stands in its midst. But can Thalan and his brother survive the hostile journey to the other side of the world to find out?

Review -- What a great hero's tale. Biblical based fiction can be fun to read. A book about giants, witches, occult and mythical beasts, there is a lot to draw from and Carter does. I really enjoyed the mystery behind the origin of Thalan and the mystery of the prophecy he chases.

Huge battles between good and evil with characters that rival any  from Lord of the Rings. It is not preachy and can be enjoyed by all. Pick it up and enjoy this adventure.

Living in 2202 A.D., his is a world dominated by apathy and hedonism where religion is banned and the few remaining Christians hide in the shadows. Known worldwide as “The Cult Hunter”, Cephas is largely responsible for putting them there. Now living a quiet life as a Religious History professor, Cephas is reluctantly called out of retirement when the government sends him on a high stakes mission designed to crush Christianity once and for all.
As the puzzles begin to unravel, Cephas struggles to find the one answer that has always eluded him, the solution to his own desire to explore faith rather than destroy it. To do so, he finds himself walking a dangerous line between two worlds and two beautiful women. One represents the temptations of the outwardly utopian world of man while the other the Godly world that he’s secretly trying to understand. Unfortunately, neither these worlds nor these women are truly what they appear to be, leaving Cephas to wonder if “The Cult Hunter” has become the hunted. Luckily, like the Apostle Paul, Cephas’ learns that God often chooses His champions from the least likely among us and even “The Cult Hunter” has a place in His plan.

Zinovy's Journey by Ginny Jaques @GinnyJaques

Free for a Limited Time, Click Now on the Cover Photo.

Zinovy's Journey is a unique and richly woven futuristic action adventure story about a man's journey through a new earth toward the discovery of a meaningful relationship with God.

Zinovy Kozlov has spent twenty-three years climbing the ladder of Russian military success one rung at a time. An Air Force pilot, FSB veteran, and now a cosmonaut on the Global Regime's International Space Station, he should be at the peak of his career. But Zinovy has enemies whose political power extends into space, and they are determined to kill him. Then the earth is destroyed in a nuclear holocaust and everything changes.

In Zinovy's Journey, suspenseful action and lively dialogue are carefully balanced to keep the reader turning pages, intrigued by the conflicts--both external and internal--and challenged by the underlying philosophical and religious ideas debated by the characters as they walk from Cape Canaveral toward a mythical city located somewhere in the center of the earth. The journey is a long one, and dangerous. Zinovy has few physical weapons to protect himself and his companions from the threat of evil men in this world where all human technology has been destroyed. And he has no spiritual weapons to protect his fortressed heart from the onslaught of love that he begins to realize has followed him from his orphaned childhood to the present moment. By the end of the journey, Zinovy Efimovich Kozlov has lost the battle with his Creator and won a prize more wonderful than he dreamed possible. He has discovered the meaning of his name. Zinovy means "Walking with God."

Multiple sub-plots including an engaging mystery and a gently developing romance deepen this story. A touch of humor lightens it. Interaction among a wide range of characters, both mortal and immortal, introduces an element of magic realism to the storyline as well. Zinovy's Journey is Christian fiction at its best.

Sunset in the Mists - The Dark Draws the Curtain by Julianne T. Grey

Free for a Limited Time, Click Now on the Cover Photo.

Evynsford was a nearly forgotten hamlet on the coast of the Irish Sea when the troubles began. First the dead ship rolled into the dock, then fog swallowed the community and then the disappearances occurred. One child vanished from her bed before sunrise. Then twin brothers did not return from their chores. As the cries for the local watchmen to do something – anything – grew, so did the number of abducted children. By the time the local watchmen called to Preston for professional constables, there were more children missing than accounted for in the panicked township.

When Inspector Arthur Eldermann arrives in the mist-choked community, not a single child under the age of thirteen but older than three remains, and there are no witnesses, no bodies and no clues as to why. The Inspector, a lapsed clergyman of cold demeanor and sneering wit, has his work cut out for him among the surly and insular townsfolk. His one ray of hope lies in Miss Regina Hollferd, governess of the rural schoolhouse, whose dedication and knowledge may hold the key to the disappearance of so many of her students. Her zeal and diligence begin to touch something in Inspector Eldermann long left to the dark, and he finds himself enthralled and repelled in equal measure by the soft-spoken yet potent woman.

He will need all the help he can get, as things are moving in the mists around Evynsford, and the great wheels of a dark, terrible engine have already been set in motion. Can daring, wit and rekindled faith find the stolen children and perhaps even forestall the shadow looming ever closer?

Three members of the McIntosh family are setting up appointments with death, marking it on their calendars for Friday, May 10, 1963. That's the day an F5 tornado will obliterate everything in its path in a mile-wide trail of desolation across Oklahoma---and their little town is in its path.

Pastor Mac McMIntosh lost his faith when his wife died--it's time now to end the charade. His 16-year-old daughter and his father-in-law are arranging to actually kill somebody that day. For one it's an act of hopeless desperation; for the other, a final declaration of unconditional love.

But when Mac grudgingly agrees to meet daily with Princess during her final five days, everything changes. Princess has watched Mac and his family for years, looking out through someone else's eyes. She speaks into Mac's heart with insight and grace, while in her own heart she harbors a secret she's determined to carry to her grave about the little sister she confessed to beheading 14 years ago.

REVIEW: The Apocalypse and Satan's Glory Hole! by by by Timothy W. Long @TimWLong & Jonathan Moon

Recipe for the apocalypse:
 * Four parts Horsemen of the Apocalypse
 * Three drops of bathtub LSD
 * A handful of sexual perverts
 * Garnish with a bunch of really hot pissed-off militant lesbians
 * Add a splash of savior approved Red Bull Shake or stir, just don't upset junk-monkey Phil in the process.

Serve to the demons that are currently invading the Earth. You think you know how the world ends? You don't know shit! -- Armageddon arrived on a weekday, which was really inconvenient for a lot of people, including The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. After their appearance on The Kayla Mangrabler talk show, they decided to go their separate ways and cause as much havoc as possible. Jesus has been stuck at the craps table for three days, sipping vodka and Red Bull, completely missing the end of the world. But he is about to meet up with Death and go on a road trip that will test their resolve and their blood alcohol content. Meanwhile, an unlikely band of heroes are headed to Las Vegas to fight the Apocalypse. Creepy Chuzz and his one-armed, addict monkey Phil are flying there in an ice cream truck. Chuzz's best friend Leon plans to lend a hand, assuming he can escape the clutches of the insane Father Maniwhore not to mention Pestilence, who has designs on the janitor's bathtub-LSD-addled brain. Along the way they will encounter bouncing glory hole boxes, militant lesbians, an undead general, a flying demon named Princess Sally, hordes of zombies, and a trio of secret agents hellbent on delivering a Cease and Desist order to Lucifer himself. They'd better hurry, because the Devil is rising in the desert, and he is hungry to start the Apocalypse that his son could not. But only if he can get it on with his giant floating glory hole..

Review: Don't receive your theology from bizarro authors. They will lead you astray. What you can count on Long and Moon for is a wild trippy ride through the Apocalypse. Turn a way now if you have a sensitive disposition. Lots of bizarro tropes explored here. If you don't know what that involves, reread the description.

What else you can count on is a niche audience seeking and devouring these type of stories. What Long and Moon bring to the table is story telling ability. This is an interesting, complex and thought out, well planned story. It's not just for shock and awe. It's for entertaining and an example of good story telling. It's not your usual hero's tale but an theading of multiple story line surrounding an Apocalyptic event.

Read it.

Adam's Reign by Jonathan Macnab @fictionreborn1

Free for a Limited Time, Click Now on the Cover Photo.

In a time of myth, angels and demons wage war for the souls of mankind. When giants and dinosaurs roam the earth and all the world is clothed in perpetual springtime, man lives for hundreds of years, forever growing either in righteousness or in evil. In these days, there are few who remember where they have come from, few who keep hold of the one true God who wrought the world. For those who do, the blinders are ripped off and they see the truth: a world at war. Tucked just behind the veil of sense experience, wars rage and captives are taken as kingdoms collide and man is caught in the middle, a part of the struggle but unaware of his role.

One such man, Methuselah, the oldest man alive, finds his family caught up in the conflict of the age, the battle for the survival of the human race. In this fight against the forces of darkness and the deep wounds of their own souls, they will face great sacrifice and tragedy if they hope to reach the reward. Some of them will not make the journey, and those who do will never be the same. If they are to succeed they will need hope, which - in ancient earth - is a scarce commodity.

In the pages of this book, much like life, you will find truth amidst fabrication, silver covered in dross. You will find yourself caught up in an epic set in a very real time in human history, populated with real people who lived, loved, and lost. Yet, you will doubt the words even as you read them, because the truth, sometimes, is harder to believe than a lie.

These survivors, along with others, are drawn together in their quest to find not only the truth behind the spreading apocalypse, but also to escape the madness they face at every turn.

Review: The book does a great job of introducing all the characters and and the slow burn of their catastrophic situation. You get to know each one and learn what makes them tick and of course, some are are going to die. This is a zombie story.

There is one negative and that is the author's use of bathos. Every character has some joke to tell at the worst time and most of the time aren't funny. I could do with out it.

It's otherwise a seriously strong, well told, zombie story. I greatly enjoyed it overall.

The Messiah Conspiracy is a fictional thriller which takes place in the field of genetics and human cloning.

Hugely controversial, you will either love this book or hate it. Some will feel challenged and uncomfortable by the topic it deals with, and others will be drawn into it and unable to put it down... the question is, what will you think?

A young student at Oxford University has an idea for his doctor’s thesis (PhD), which fulfils not only the criteria for ‘originality’, but goes far beyond it. For if Jason Dyke is right, his idea will soon change the world and shift the delicate balance of power from one nation to another.

Jason’s idea is simple: In the genetics laboratory at Oxford University, he will clone Jesus Christ.

But when the CIA finds out about his plan, the President of America realises that if the UK succeeds, the balance of power will shift from the USA to Europe. And he realises that the only way to stop this happening is for America to create its very own clone of Jesus Christ.

The race is on...

Heaven remains silent. The followers of Christ cry out: Where is God? Patric Bourdon believes in himself. His zealous and pregnant fiancée waits patiently for him to "man up" and take responsibility for his impending family, but the lure of drugs and debauchery proves too strong... Until Patric receives a command that he cannot refuse. Tourec, his self-righteous half-brother, has begun a campaign of terrorism against the forces of darkness. The Church of Satan is paralyzed with fear as Tourec and his band of rogue assassins seek vengeance for the evils that Lucifer has wrought upon the earth, and Patric is commanded to seek out and neutralize his brother by any means necessary... A NEW TERROR WILL RISE...
A NEW AGE OF DARKNESS WILL BEGIN.

In his struggle against the world and against himself, he must learn that every choice has its price, and that every sin must be punished...

The forces of Heaven and Hell prepare meet on a sacred battlefield, and an unquenchable darkness spreads throughout mankind. What Did Jesus Really Mean When He Said Follow Me? by David Platt @plattdavid

Free for a Limited Time, Click Now on the Cover Photo.

You may think you are a Christian—but are you sure? Jesus’ call to follow him is more than an invitation to pray a prayer. It is a summons to lose your life and find new life and ultimate joy in him. In David Platt’s book Follow Me: A Call to Die. A Call to Live he asks the question, “What did Jesus really mean when he said, ‘Follow me’?” What if we really listened to Jesus’ words and heard what he is saying? When people truly engage with Jesus’ personal invitation to follow him, everything changes, for he is worthy of all our trust and affections.

What Did Jesus Really Mean When He Said Follow Me? builds on the message of Follow Me to motivate readers to experience our grand purpose: to exalt the glory of God by spreading Christ’s gospel—to make disciples who are making disciples. This booklet is a great resource to share with others to discuss crucial faith questions in a personal and grace-filled manner and engage others to be disciple-makers in obedience to Jesus. Ideal for small groups or personal and mass evangelism.

Review - Ebba, the first Easter Hare by Leen Lefebre @Leen_Lefebre

King Stern rules over a dark empire of hares. His brother Atta leaves. Before his love Hulde gives birth to their first child, he wants to find a field of his own, bathing in light. Every day Hulde runs to the frontier, where she stands on the lookout for Atta. But then the baby arrives, too soon.

At a rapid pace, Princess Ebba grows into a smart child. Hulde notices that this curious girl resembles Atta more and more – and that is not a gift. When they discover an abandoned bird’s nest in a rabbit cave, Ebba wants to go on a trip just like her father. But, is she as brave as him?

Review - This story reinds me of Watership Down. Why? The characters are rabbits. That's probably not enough to draw a comparison but that all I got.

It's a definite cute fairy tale with hints of danger but nothing really to scare the kids too badly. It makes it more of an adventure and that's fun. I think young children will enjoy this story on their own or to read to them.

It a quick read and a fun adventure for a rabbit story.

Review - Eli vs God: You Give and Take Away by John Moelker @moelker

A twenty-two-year-old, frustrated Eli Poole is about to break free from a Christian home where he clearly doesn’t belong. He can imagine the freedom. Free at last! No more disapproving looks from his father. No more incessant attempts by his mother to evangelize her wayward son. No more clingy, snot-nosed little brother to put up with. In 3 days, Eli will finally escape Hicksville and enter a brave, new world, full of bright lights and great expectations. Eli’s journey will take him into a wilderness of trials and temptations and a valley that is deep, dark, and full of danger. But he might also meet some strange and interesting people along the way. Who knows? He might even find some romance—if his greatest adversary allows it, that is. Eli believes that it’s Eli vs. the world. He’s about to find out that it’s not the world he has to worry about—it’s the world’s creator—the LORD God, Almighty. Eli is in for the fight of his life. A fight to the death. Join Eli on his journey. You might just see a little bit of Eli in you.

Review: Though this may be a redemption story, it will resonate more with those who are already believers in Jesus Christ and his teachings. For those outside that circle it will appear preachy and unrealistic. Eli converts too easily in my opinion, despite what he endures, I feel he rolled over too quickly. He has an extreme bad day and is undeniably headed toward rock bottom but doesn't quite reach it. I believe this hero story arch is flawed and rushed. It's a good story but it could have been great but it's not quite there.

My name is Gemma Keyes. Other than my name, I am utterly forgettable—so those who never paid much attention to me in the first place haven’t exactly noticed that I’ve disappeared. Vanished. Oh, it’s much more complicated than it sounds. And let me tell you, the adjustment is difficult.

I should tell you about Dr. Daniel Bickel, world-renowned nanophysicist. We used to work together, but I’ll be candid with you: He’s supposed to be dead. Well, he’s not. (Imagine my surprise.) Instead of the proverbial “six feet under,” he’s subsisting in an abandoned devolution cavern beneath the old Manzano Weapons Storage Facility on Kirtland Air Force Base here in Albuquerque.

“I need to show you what I’m protecting here, Gemma,” he insisted.

I stared into the clear glass case. I could hear . . . humming, clicking, buzzing. A faint haze inside the box shifted. Dissolved. Came back together. Reminded me of how mercury, when released on a plate, will flow and form new shapes. Only this, this thing was “flowing and forming” in midair.

“Do you see them?” Dr. Bickel asked.

“Them?” I was confused. My mouth opened to a stunned “o” as the silver haze resolved into blue letters.

H E L L O

Dr. Bickel hadn’t pressed any buttons. Hadn’t said anything to them. Hadn’t gestured.

He grinned. “Ah. They’ve noticed you. They know they haven’t seen you before.”

“Well, I wish they wouldn’t notice me!” I choked on the words, my eyes fixed on the glass case.

And I need to warn you about General Cushing. The rank and name likely conjure images of a lean but muscled old soldier, posture rigid, face cemented in unyielding lines, iron-gray hair cut high and tight.

Let me disabuse you of that impression.

General Imogene Cushing is short and a tiny bit plump. She wears her silvered hair in an elegant braid knotted at the nape of her neck, and she knows how to smile sweetly. With the deadliest of sharks..

You wouldn’t suspect a two-star general, an Air Force O-8, of being a traitor, would you?

Review - After the Cure by Deirdre Gould @scullerytales

Eight years ago the December Plague swept through the human population of earth. The Infected were driven mad by the disease, becoming violent and cannibalistic, killing even those closest to them without hesitation. Six years ago, the tiny surviving community of Immune humans found a cure, and the Infected began to wake up and realize what they'd done. And what had been done to them. Over time, society began to rebuild itself. Now it is ready to judge those responsible for the Plague. Nella Rider, the court psychologist and Frank Courtlen a defense attorney are trying to establish the truth. But more depends on it than they know. They race to find the answers they need before the fragile remains of humanity vanish for good.

Review - I've read a lot of zombie novels and I can say this one is really different for a zombie story. It's more like a mystery adventure and that's can make it even more exciting if every moan you hear could be your last.

There is a romance thrown into the mix and for not going into graphic detail, the reader definitely know what time it is. It's sexy time. Gould uses excellent literary skills to bring the reader intimately close to the action yet in the end, give the characters privacy and preserve their modestly. It was hot talk but in an intelligent way.

The zombie stuff is the same old, same old but the twist regarding the cured having to deal with what they had done is solid horror. The mystery is truly a mystery and having a rush to complete the puzzle in time, gets my heart pumping. This is only book one but ends well enough for me not having to continue on in the series.

Check it out.
