The mob is out for blood—literally.

At the height of prohibition, the real threat on the streets of 1929 Chicago isn’t Al Capone and his empire built on bootleg whiskey; it’s the vampire mafia. And the liquid they trade is of an altogether deadlier variety.

In this hidden world, the vampire mafia is bootlegging an addictive and deadly synthetic blood called Thrill. When the vampire Maurice discovers their blood-running operation, he must act to stop the flow of bootlegged blood, or risk the power balance of the vampire world tipping entirely into the hands of those who have been corrupted.

But the mafia doesn’t take kindly to interlopers, even those with fangs.

The Vampire Maurice is a brand-new, full-length novel set in the world of Johnny B. Truant’s bestselling Fat Vampire series.

Game of Fangs is a new stand-alone novel in the Fat Vampire universe, from Johnny B. Truant, best-selling author of Invasion, Fat Vampire, and The Inevitable.

When Nora, Orlo, Robert, Amelie, Jaden, Rohit, and Brody form a seven-person team of live-action-role-players to enter a massive three-day Vampire LARP tournament, they have no idea two real vampires will be in the mix, on a mission of their own.

As the gamers play, gathering points and moving upwards through the floors of the convention center, the vampires turn contestants, searching for a lost descendant, and the game gets gruesome and increasingly deadly.

Will amateur vampire hunters be able to sort out the bloody truth from the role-playing fiction and save the still-living from the more-than-dead?

Perfect for fans of Rick Gualtieri’s Tome of Bill or Drew Hayes’ Fred the Vampire Accountant, Game of Fangs tells the story of what happens when a group of vampire-hunting gamers encounters real vampires. Get your copy today!

Dracula by Bram Stoker

Free for a limited.

4.5 Stars

Young lawyer Jonathan Harker journeys to Transylvania to meet with the mysterious Count Dracula only to discover that his nobleman client is a vampire who is thirsty for new blood. After imprisoning Harker in his castle, Dracula travels to England to seduce Jonathan’s fiancĂ©e, Mina, and the battle against an ineffable evil begins.

Led by philosopher and metaphysician Professor Van Helsing—Dracula’s most indomitable adversary—Harker, Mina, and a band of allies unite, determined to confront and destroy the Count before he can escape.

Bram Stoker ingeniously modernized gothic folklore by moving his vampire from traditional castle ruins to modern England. With Dracula, which has been interpreted and dissected by scholars for generations, Stoker changed the vampire novel forever.

Revised edition: Previously published as Dracula, this edition of Dracula (AmazonClassics Edition) includes editorial revisions.

Review of Slimy Underbelly (Dan Shamble Zombie P. I.) by Kevin J. Anderson @THEKJA

Summary: There's something fishy going on in the Unnatural Quarter. Bodies are floating face-down, the plumbing is backing up, and something smells rotten—even to a zombie detective like Dan Shamble. Diving into the slimy underbelly of a diabolical plot, Dan comes face-to-tentacles with an amphibious villain named Ah'Chulhu (to which the usual response is "Gesundheit!"). With his snap-happy gang of gator-guys—former pets flushed down the toilet—Ah'Chulhu wreaks havoc beneath the streets. While feuding weather wizards kick up storms and a gang of thieving lawn gnomes continues their reign of terror, Dan Shamble is running out of time—before the whole stinking city goes down the drain.…

Review: I came across this little gem while I was perusing the audio book collection at my local library. The name caught my eye and so I had to turn it over and read the summary and I was hooked. It has everything I enjoy; zombies, humor, crime and detectives. I have a 40 minute commute to work and I need entertainment. Anderson's book was exactly what I needed. I was laughing through out the story. The depth of curious and odd characters was just awesome. I was swapping cds as fast I as I could, eager to hear what happened next. And a lot does happen, three major stories are juggled with ease and happily come together to tie the whole book with a big bright happy bow. I have not read/listened to a book as funny as Slimy Underbelly.
I must add that Phil Gigante read this book beautifully. Many can read a book out loud but Gigante performs and tells a story. He gives every character their own voice and identity. It made this book ever more enjoyable.
I highly recommend picking this book up. It is extremely entertaining and immensely fun.
