Verliege by Micheal Rivers @micheal_rivers

Verliege

The world of Adrian Bolt shattered as his wife lay butchered on the floor of Castle Verliege. His conviction by a German court was as swift as the sword that killed her. He maintained his silence knowing his story would not be believed. Though his reputation was impeccable there was nobody willing to stand for him.
Another world lay in wait for anyone living within the walls of the castle; waiting, watching, for eternity to keep the Mueller name upon its registers. There is only one world here for those who choose to stay. To enter its doors is an invitation you will not soon forget!

Rowena Through the Wall by Melodie Campbell @MelodieCampbell

Rowena Through the Wall: Expanded Edition

When Rowena falls through her classroom wall and lands in an alternate world, she doesn’t count on being kidnapped―not once, but twice―and the stakes get higher as the men get hotter.

College instructor Rowena Revel has a magical gift with animals and a huge problem. Gorgeous tunic-clad men keep walking through the wall of her classroom. If that isn't enough, she's being haunted by sexy dreams in a rugged land. Curious, she checks out the wall and falls through a portal into the world of her dreams.

After years of war, women are scarce. Rowena finds herself in a heap of man-trouble when she 'accidentally' marries distant cousin Ivan. Enter Cedric, who dabbles in black magic and has an even blacker heart. Throw in a Viking, the local wolf-king, a band of brigands and a goth-clad student who follows her through the portal, and Rowena is off on a rollicking adventure.

Unwanted husbands keep piling up, but that doesn't stop her from falling for the wrong brother. Not only that, she has eighteen year old Kendra to look out for and a war to prevent. Good thing she has the ability to go back through the wall. Or does she?

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR: This special expanded edition features an all-new ending based on a sequel I had planned. Due to the overwhelming response from readers who were too excited to wait, here's the entire story, including the thrilling conclusion to Rowena's journey.

CAMILEON: Beyond The Veil by Shykia Bell ‏ @ShykiaBell

CAMILEON: Beyond The Veil

Seeing beyond the veil means seeing beyond what logic dictates and what others believe.

As Camile Leon becomes engulfed in the mysteries on the other side of the veil, she learns the astounding truth of its significance to the world's vitality. Furthermore, she comes closer to understanding her pending role in steering upcoming events to either elevate or destroy humanity as she knows it. As time elapses, the woman in the mirror becomes tinted with a disturbing haze of unfamiliarity. The recent emergence of abdominal scars trigger memories of a past littered with deceit, abuse, seduction and betrayal. This leads Camile to question not only whether she can trust the people appointed to train and assist her, but also her own moral fiber. Doubt is sometimes a paralyzing force, but in Camile's case, it could result in a cataclysmic chain reaction...

...with humanity in its path.

CAMILEON: Beyond The Veil transcends the sci-fi/fantasy genres and infuses a seamless blend of paranormal adventure, psychological thriller and romance. It explores the possibility that while a civilization betrays itself, perhaps the conflict exposes something far more vulnerable than the land and possessions at the source of the chaos.

Backroads and Alleyways by Bruce Blake @bruceablake

Backroads and Alleyways: a Collection of Diversions

A vampire meets his match.

A porcelain doll that's more than it seems.

A dog claiming to be an ambassador for an alien race.

A cowardly soldier trapped on an alien planet.

These are some of the characters you meet detouring down the backroads of the world or foraging in the dark corners of the alleyways of our lives.

Backroads and Alleyways is a collection of eight stories -- diversions from the everyday -- about the people and things best left in shadowy deadend alleys or in the forest at the side of the road.

Eight stories of horror and dark fantasy (with a sci-fi tale thrown in for good measure) to distract you.

Review - King Richard by Letter Seventeen

King Richard
I've loved this band since its first release. This album is amazing with a mix of so many influences. The musicians brought in for this album are top notch. Lyrically the songs can speak to your soul and invaded you mind like no one's business. I am glad to be fan and long for more from Letter Seventeen in the future.
This is a great album and a treasured addition to any music lover. The only draw back is the band's notoriety for Donkey Songs in previous releases and no Donkey Song is found on this album. It was a good run. The Donkey Song is dead long live King Richard.

Slow Your Prose: 25 Tips on How New Authors Can Improve Their Craft by James W. Lewis @biglew1971

Slow Your Prose: 25 Tips on How New Authors Can Improve Their Craft

New writers often worry more about how to sell their book instead of writing a polished story in the first place. They have the pedal pressed to the floor when they shouldn't have gotten in the ride at all, so to speak. In "Slow Your Prose: 25 Tips On How New Authors Can Improve Their Craft," we go back to the basics.

Showing vs. telling, passive/active voice, point-of-views ... many writers confuse these key elements for writing a good story. Before rushing a book to market, it's more important to write the best book possible first. But why do so many authors skip this step?

As a bonus, you'll find three proven query letters that have led to deals with a literary agent, a magazine and popular anthology by a New York Times best-selling author.

Gray Area by George P. Saunders @gpsaunders30

Gray Area

Lou Diamond is known for being the best field agent around in the Los Angeles Police Department's elite division, the Office of Special Services. The OSS, quite simply, gets the worst crime jobs on the planet-and Lou Diamond, at one time or another, has seen them all. An ex-tactical assault agent with Special Weapons and Tactics, Diamond has enjoyed a near one hundred percent success rate in solving any crime, anywhere.

But when lawyers suddenly end up mysteriously dying at his brother's prestigious law firm, the evidence to be found is wanting in every way. The suspects in Lou Diamond's book are all dirty in some way, but all clear of the suspicion of murder. As the body count continues to grow at the firm he is investigating, so to does Diamond's belief that the murderer at large is killing with a purpose other than personal revenge.

Things become more complicated still when he meets one of the firm's most powerful partners, the beautiful and alluring, Linda Baylor. Compelled into a bizarre, sexual relationship with Baylor, Diamond begins to have a terrible suspicion that there is a gray area between sex, trust and blood. And that at the end of the day, nothing is as it seems-and no one is who they claim to be.
Lou Diamond comes to understand that the end result of such ambiguity is death.

Let Us Play, A Rock 'n Roll Love Story by Karen Magill @karenmagill

Let Us Play, A Rock 'n Roll Love Story

In an uncertain time in the future, Kaya More uses her gift of second sight to lead LUPO - the Let Us Play Organization - a group of rebels as they fight the unjust laws that ban rock and roll music. In the United States their opponent is Judah Arnold and the People Against Rock and Roll, otherwise known as PARR.

Some of LUPO’s members are descendants of a legendary rock band that were the last to oppose PARR on the fateful night that rock music was wiped out. The band, MYSTIQUE, disappeared, never to be heard from or seen again. Such was the fate of many rock musicians.

As the rebels race from the streets of New York City to the tops of the Canadian Rockies to the beaches of the California they find adventure, music and love. Yet the story doesn’t really explode until the rest of the world takes a stand and joins in the struggle.

Premature Eradication - Part 1 by James W. Lewis @biglew1971

Premature Eradication - Part 1

Way too often, the fire flickers out in a relationship. Many men become lazy, striving to get quick-draw, “drive-by” satisfaction from their partners. That leaves wives and girlfriends frustrated and wide awake, while their male companions lay satisfied and meeting the Sandman within minutes. Just another uneventful night of “dip, dive, and doze” that has become the routine.

Robert Johnson is no different with Tosha, his wife of five years. The marathons of the past have long become 50-yard sprints. When introduced to a new pill called Erectz, the mindless humping doesn’t improve; they just become more frequent. Fed up with the "male species," Tosha bands together with other like-minded women to expose men for what they really are—vile, selfish, lazy, and completely unnecessary. But they are good for one thing.

Premature Eradication is a two-part suspense series that has a unique spin on the age-old tale of a woman scorned, and a man unknowingly chosen to endure the greatest of all nightmares. As the saying goes, “when a woman’s fed up, there ain’t nothin’ you can do about it” ... except run.

How To Sell A Gazillion eBooks In No Time by Russell Blake @BlakeBooks

How To Sell A Gazillion eBooks In No Time

How To Sell A Gazillion eBooks In No Time (Even if Drunk, High or Incarcerated) is a parody of all things related to writing, self-publishing and self-promotion. Featuring 59 Writer’s Tips running the gamut from selecting a blockbuster title to creating compelling narrative and dialog, Russell’s relentlessly evil humor mocks everything sacred to the writing profession. Described as “…the literary equivalent of Ebola” and “vicious, demented, reprehensible brain poison,” Blake’s book is sweeping the publishing industry and garnering rave reviews. Review - Sarah's Dirty Secret by Charity Parkerson @CharityParkerso

Sarah's Dirty Secret

The author offers this synopsis:

Sarah has been married for ten years, and she couldn't be more bored. However, Sarah is keeping one little secret. She can't stop fantasizing about her sexy boss.

This book comes with a warning: This book contains graphic depictions of sexual activity including oral sex and masturbation. It is intended for mature audiences not offended by explicit representations of sexual activity between consenting adults.

That in a nut shell is my review. If you are not offended by explicit sexual situations then this is for you. The open scene starts with Sarah fantasizing about her employer. She's married with kids yet still has a hard body. Her employer, Charlie, is extremely handsome. He has some concern that she is married with kids but that concern doesn't last long.
What Parkerson describes is an explosion of immense sexual tension. Some folks long to witness that and this book will satisfy that need. The writing is done well but the story itself is very short and will definitely leave you wanting more. That is assuming you want more story.

Howl of the Wolf by Diane Rapp @DianeRapp

Howl of the Wolf (Heirs to the Throne (Book 1))

Drako is a planet on the fringe of civilized space suitable for colonization, but a society of telepathic wolves already occupies the world. When a colony ship lands on Drako, the wolves try to communicate but find no intelligent creatures to mindspeak with them. The wolves watch as colonists develop Drako into a recreation planet for wealthy tourists. Settlers became feudal lords, desert sheiks, oriental samurai, and ordinary peasants depending on their level of investment. After several generations of catering to tourism, the monarchy revolted against technology and closed Drako to offworld visitors. Distaste for technology mutated into superstitious hatred, and anyone caught with spacer tools or weapons could be executed.

In civilized space scientists invented Transfer, a means to insure immortality by moving a human mind into a clone—free of hereditary defects. Every fifty years (a span) an individual qualified for Transfer but the tradeoff was large debt to the Institute. Governments toppled and war left the Institute in total control. Individuals were virtual slaves to Institute rules, but the inventors of Transfer became a threat.

When the medical spaceship Zebulon flees from an Institute death sentence, the captain doesn’t know an assassin infiltrated his crew. They picked the remote planet of Drako for their exile where a dying king needs an heir, and hereditary lords hate spacers. When the king forces Captain Donovan to compete for the crown to protect the lives of his crew. Faced with superstitions, hatred, and eminent danger, the crew must adapt to a feudal society without using modern tools or weapons. Fortunately the Transfer process enhanced the natural talents of each person and might give them an advantage. When Kriegen, the leader of a wolf pack makes telepathic contact with Donovan, he gains a valuable ally agains Jarrack, the Institute assassin who is determined to kill him.
