Walls of Wind by Jane Ann McLachlan @JaneAnMcLachlan

Free for a Limited Time, Click Now on the Cover Photo.

What if males and females were completely different species from each other?
WALLS OF WIND explores this question and its ramifications on an alien world in which males and females are two equally intelligent sentient species: Ghen and Bria. They are interdependent and reproductively symbiotic, although physically, emotionally and mentally they have little in common. Or so they believe, until their city-state is threatened by increasing internal conflict and a terrifying external predator that has invaded the forests just beyond their walls. A handful of Ghen and Bria struggle desperately to find a solution before their civilization is destroyed.

WALLS OF WIND combines anthropological speculation and the tragedy, suspense and triumph of individual characters who struggle to overcome external threats as well as their own internal fears and prejudices.

Cephas Paulson was born to solve puzzles that nobody else can solve, a talent the U.S. government has exploited with deadly results. Living in 2202 A.D., his is a world dominated by apathy and hedonism where religion is banned and the few remaining Christians hide in the shadows. Known worldwide as “The Cult Hunter”, Cephas is largely responsible for putting them there. Now living a quiet life as a Religious History professor, Cephas is reluctantly called out of retirement when the government sends him on a high stakes mission designed to crush Christianity once and for all.
As the puzzles begin to unravel, Cephas struggles to find the one answer that has always eluded him, the solution to his own desire to explore faith rather than destroy it. To do so, he finds himself walking a dangerous line between two worlds and two beautiful women. One represents the temptations of the outwardly utopian world of man while the other the Godly world that he’s secretly trying to understand. Unfortunately, neither these worlds nor these women are truly what they appear to be, leaving Cephas to wonder if “The Cult Hunter” has become the hunted. Luckily, like the Apostle Paul, Cephas’ learns that God often chooses His champions from the least likely among us and even “The Cult Hunter” has a place in His plan.

Zinovy's Journey by Ginny Jaques @GinnyJaques

Free for a Limited Time, Click Now on the Cover Photo.

Zinovy's Journey is a unique and richly woven futuristic action adventure story about a man's journey through a new earth toward the discovery of a meaningful relationship with God.

Zinovy Kozlov has spent twenty-three years climbing the ladder of Russian military success one rung at a time. An Air Force pilot, FSB veteran, and now a cosmonaut on the Global Regime's International Space Station, he should be at the peak of his career. But Zinovy has enemies whose political power extends into space, and they are determined to kill him. Then the earth is destroyed in a nuclear holocaust and everything changes.

In Zinovy's Journey, suspenseful action and lively dialogue are carefully balanced to keep the reader turning pages, intrigued by the conflicts--both external and internal--and challenged by the underlying philosophical and religious ideas debated by the characters as they walk from Cape Canaveral toward a mythical city located somewhere in the center of the earth. The journey is a long one, and dangerous. Zinovy has few physical weapons to protect himself and his companions from the threat of evil men in this world where all human technology has been destroyed. And he has no spiritual weapons to protect his fortressed heart from the onslaught of love that he begins to realize has followed him from his orphaned childhood to the present moment. By the end of the journey, Zinovy Efimovich Kozlov has lost the battle with his Creator and won a prize more wonderful than he dreamed possible. He has discovered the meaning of his name. Zinovy means "Walking with God."

Multiple sub-plots including an engaging mystery and a gently developing romance deepen this story. A touch of humor lightens it. Interaction among a wide range of characters, both mortal and immortal, introduces an element of magic realism to the storyline as well. Zinovy's Journey is Christian fiction at its best.

Sunset in the Mists - The Dark Draws the Curtain by Julianne T. Grey

Free for a Limited Time, Click Now on the Cover Photo.

Evynsford was a nearly forgotten hamlet on the coast of the Irish Sea when the troubles began. First the dead ship rolled into the dock, then fog swallowed the community and then the disappearances occurred. One child vanished from her bed before sunrise. Then twin brothers did not return from their chores. As the cries for the local watchmen to do something – anything – grew, so did the number of abducted children. By the time the local watchmen called to Preston for professional constables, there were more children missing than accounted for in the panicked township.

When Inspector Arthur Eldermann arrives in the mist-choked community, not a single child under the age of thirteen but older than three remains, and there are no witnesses, no bodies and no clues as to why. The Inspector, a lapsed clergyman of cold demeanor and sneering wit, has his work cut out for him among the surly and insular townsfolk. His one ray of hope lies in Miss Regina Hollferd, governess of the rural schoolhouse, whose dedication and knowledge may hold the key to the disappearance of so many of her students. Her zeal and diligence begin to touch something in Inspector Eldermann long left to the dark, and he finds himself enthralled and repelled in equal measure by the soft-spoken yet potent woman.

He will need all the help he can get, as things are moving in the mists around Evynsford, and the great wheels of a dark, terrible engine have already been set in motion. Can daring, wit and rekindled faith find the stolen children and perhaps even forestall the shadow looming ever closer?

Three members of the McIntosh family are setting up appointments with death, marking it on their calendars for Friday, May 10, 1963. That's the day an F5 tornado will obliterate everything in its path in a mile-wide trail of desolation across Oklahoma---and their little town is in its path.

Pastor Mac McMIntosh lost his faith when his wife died--it's time now to end the charade. His 16-year-old daughter and his father-in-law are arranging to actually kill somebody that day. For one it's an act of hopeless desperation; for the other, a final declaration of unconditional love.

Add to the three with death plans a mysterious inmate called Princess. At 5 o'clock that Friday afternoon, the state of Oklahoma is scheduled to strap her into an electric chair named Sizzlin' Suzie and turn on the juice.

But when Mac grudgingly agrees to meet daily with Princess during her final five days, everything changes. Princess has watched Mac and his family for years, looking out through someone else's eyes. She speaks into Mac's heart with insight and grace, while in her own heart she harbors a secret she's determined to carry to her grave about the little sister she confessed to beheading 14 years ago.

Princess knows the monster tornado is coming. She calls it The Big Ugly and she pleads with Mac to run! But by then, it's too late. For all of them.

REVIEW: The Apocalypse and Satan's Glory Hole! by by by Timothy W. Long @TimWLong & Jonathan Moon

Recipe for the apocalypse:
 * Four parts Horsemen of the Apocalypse
 * Three drops of bathtub LSD
 * A handful of sexual perverts
 * Garnish with a bunch of really hot pissed-off militant lesbians
 * Add a splash of savior approved Red Bull Shake or stir, just don't upset junk-monkey Phil in the process.

Serve to the demons that are currently invading the Earth. You think you know how the world ends? You don't know shit! -- Armageddon arrived on a weekday, which was really inconvenient for a lot of people, including The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. After their appearance on The Kayla Mangrabler talk show, they decided to go their separate ways and cause as much havoc as possible. Jesus has been stuck at the craps table for three days, sipping vodka and Red Bull, completely missing the end of the world. But he is about to meet up with Death and go on a road trip that will test their resolve and their blood alcohol content. Meanwhile, an unlikely band of heroes are headed to Las Vegas to fight the Apocalypse. Creepy Chuzz and his one-armed, addict monkey Phil are flying there in an ice cream truck. Chuzz's best friend Leon plans to lend a hand, assuming he can escape the clutches of the insane Father Maniwhore not to mention Pestilence, who has designs on the janitor's bathtub-LSD-addled brain. Along the way they will encounter bouncing glory hole boxes, militant lesbians, an undead general, a flying demon named Princess Sally, hordes of zombies, and a trio of secret agents hellbent on delivering a Cease and Desist order to Lucifer himself. They'd better hurry, because the Devil is rising in the desert, and he is hungry to start the Apocalypse that his son could not. But only if he can get it on with his giant floating glory hole..

Review: Don't receive your theology from bizarro authors. They will lead you astray. What you can count on Long and Moon for is a wild trippy ride through the Apocalypse. Turn a way now if you have a sensitive disposition. Lots of bizarro tropes explored here. If you don't know what that involves, reread the description.

What else you can count on is a niche audience seeking and devouring these type of stories. What Long and Moon bring to the table is story telling ability. This is an interesting, complex and thought out, well planned story. It's not just for shock and awe. It's for entertaining and an example of good story telling. It's not your usual hero's tale but an theading of multiple story line surrounding an Apocalyptic event.

Read it.

Adam's Reign by Jonathan Macnab @fictionreborn1

Free for a Limited Time, Click Now on the Cover Photo.

In a time of myth, angels and demons wage war for the souls of mankind. When giants and dinosaurs roam the earth and all the world is clothed in perpetual springtime, man lives for hundreds of years, forever growing either in righteousness or in evil. In these days, there are few who remember where they have come from, few who keep hold of the one true God who wrought the world. For those who do, the blinders are ripped off and they see the truth: a world at war. Tucked just behind the veil of sense experience, wars rage and captives are taken as kingdoms collide and man is caught in the middle, a part of the struggle but unaware of his role.

One such man, Methuselah, the oldest man alive, finds his family caught up in the conflict of the age, the battle for the survival of the human race. In this fight against the forces of darkness and the deep wounds of their own souls, they will face great sacrifice and tragedy if they hope to reach the reward. Some of them will not make the journey, and those who do will never be the same. If they are to succeed they will need hope, which - in ancient earth - is a scarce commodity.

In the pages of this book, much like life, you will find truth amidst fabrication, silver covered in dross. You will find yourself caught up in an epic set in a very real time in human history, populated with real people who lived, loved, and lost. Yet, you will doubt the words even as you read them, because the truth, sometimes, is harder to believe than a lie.

Review: The book does a great job of introducing all the characters and and the slow burn of their catastrophic situation. You get to know each one and learn what makes them tick and of course, some are are going to die. This is a zombie story.

There is one negative and that is the author's use of bathos. Every character has some joke to tell at the worst time and most of the time aren't funny. I could do with out it.

It's otherwise a seriously strong, well told, zombie story. I greatly enjoyed it overall.
