Get New World Orders Here

New World Orders  Released as a Free audiobook in 2008

Killing Kennedy was only the beginning. . . In the nineteen-sixties, a group of wealthy men concludes that it's already too late to stop global warming from destroying the planet. But they have a plan to save themselves. Twenty years later, Jack Crowley and Jim Patterson stumble onto the conspiracy, and every answer they find is accompanied by more questions - and more deaths. Jack is a former idealist, turned cynical by his years working as a New York tabloid editor. But his enthusiasm returns as he looks into the work of a NASA scientist who tells Jack about cover-ups at the space agency. Jim is a detective with little patience for conspiracy nuts. But he hates loose ends, and is unable to let go of the inconsistencies in another suspicious NASA death. Soon, his investigation leads him to Jack, and they join forces. As Jack and Jim dig deeper, they are targeted by the type of killers that don't usually miss. From Washington to Las Vegas to the Middle East, they manage to stay one step ahead of their pursuers in a race to expose the truth, and maybe, just maybe, save the world.

The Black Witch (Curse of the Witch) by Micheal Rivers @micheal_rivers

It was the adventure of a life time. In an obscure marina off the shores of Maryland a schooner unlike any other ever built was discovered. Dorian and Diana Coe purchased the schooner and sailed from the shores of tranquility into the bowels of hell itself. Prurient tales of suicide, murder, and the disappearance of an entire crew were hand written within the ship's logs. On her decks sailed a well seasoned Captain and crew that never knew the schooner's shadowed past. The new owners ignored the words of men with integrity and sailed the Black Witch in the Spring of 1935. Into the realms of illusion and pure evil the ship and its compliment sailed never knowing the fate awaiting them!

Older Man Younger Man by Joseph Dispenza @DispenzaJ

Older Man Younger Man download
"Older Man/Younger Man" is a memoir of the relationship between a middle-aged man and a man thirty years his junior, from their first meeting, through the challenges of living together across a wide age-gap, to a climactic confession of shame and regret, the terror of loss from a life-threatening disease - and, ultimately, the triumph of love. This is a passionate, bittersweet story of a powerful love that transcends gender, bridges generations, defies convention, and brings to the partners the richness of spiritual fulfillment.

The relationship between an older man and a younger man is one of the last taboos left in our culture's sexual closet. "Older Man/Younger Man" is the first book to address an inter-generational gay male relationship as a path of spiritual redemption.

What makes this book unique and special is its presentation of the pairing between an older man and a much younger man as a healthy, successful relationship and as a spiritual journey.

The Meter Maid Murders by Andrew Delaplaine @andrew222

In this comic thriller about a serial killer loose on South Beach murdering meter maids and starring Jake Bricker, the most ineffective detective ever, the first meter maid murder was thought to be an accident. The second one, a coincidence. But when a third meter maid is killed, Chief Raffy Ramirez knows he has a serial killer on his hands. And when that meter maid, Samantha Succubus, turns out to be the sister of Sara Succubus, the lead anchor of the XYZ Network’s top-rated morning news program in New York, the story becomes an international sensation. Stuck in a difficult re-election campaign, Miami Beach Mayor Johnny Germane leans on Chief Ramirez to solve the murders, and now! But Ramirez has every man on the Force working the case, except Jake Bricker, a cop Ramirez has labelled “The Ineffective Detective.” Finally, giving in to pressure, Ramirez puts Bricker on the case. “What harm can he do?” When Bricker tells his high school buddy, Billy Willoughby, that he’s on the case, Billy is overjoyed. In fact, Billy (chief investigative reporter for the local XYZ affiliate, Channel 69, WHY-TV) has just developed a lead himself and he shares it with Jake. A year earlier, Billy had covered a ceremony at which Mayor Germane presented awards to the top 12 meter maids who wrote the most tickets in the last fiscal year. These meter maids were featured in a splashy color calendar. When the meter maids started dying, some of the victims looked familiar, so Billy did a little research and discovered that the meter maid murderer was killing the meter maids in the calendar, one by one, month by month, starting with January. Jake can’t believe his good fortune. “You mean ... we know who his next fuckin’ victim will be?” “Yep,” says Billy, “Miss April.” Billy wants to go tell Chief Ramirez the news, break the story and win an Emmy, but Jake gets him to sit on the scoop so Jake can catch the killer red-handed and take all the credit. “Billy, my career really needs this,” he begs. Of course, even though he knows the killer’s next target, Bricker somehow misses nabbing the killer, one meter maid after another, till by Miss November, Billy is losing patience with his high school buddy.

Review - A Heartstorm: a window to the soul in poetic forms by Nadina Boun @nadinaboun

A Heartstorm: a window to the soul in poetic forms is a collection of 68 poems. The book is divided into three parts; love, doom, and random inspirations. Boun's poetry expresses love, pain, betrayal, doubt, fear, abandonment, hope, death and loss.

Like all poetry it can reveal the inner workings of the poet and I want to be respectful of those feelings and the experiences the poet had to create this book. Any problems I have with the collection is my own taste and not anything against her personally.

The third section of the collection I did like more because of the more modern structure and vocabulary. I found that style more to my liking. I also found that the poetic structure wasn't uniform, from poem to poem and section to section, different styles were employed, but what was most evident was more of a classic style.

The themes expressed in the book were powerful and yearning for love to be reliable and experienced fully and done very well. Boun pours here heart out and is constantly disappointed by love. I applauded her for her honesty and transparency. She has gone on to say that looking back, she has grown and matured since writing those poems. She has a new collection coming out very soon and I am eager to see the change in her creative voice.

It's a wonderful expression of Boun's life and would best be appreciated by lovers of classic poetry. I would say that those who seek classic poetry might like this collection.

Review - From Above by Jeremy Robinson @JRobinsonAuthor

I read Jeremy Robinson's From Above a science fiction noir tale. When a story starts with, "When my arm came off, I knew something wasn't right." You have to read it to the end. I love gritty hard-boiled detectives on the case. Robinson's character, Priest, wants to know who shot off his arm and in the process shot a mile deep hole in the Earth in the process.
Priest has a thing for Tac-suits and his new partner, Rehna.
It's a great story. I loved reading it because I can't get enough of these kinds of stories. You get a sense of the type of people that make up these two main characters and the choices they make are not out of the ordinary for them.
I recommend this to lovers of noir and detective stories.

Interview with Micheal Rivers @micheal_rivers

The Digital Ink Spot interviewed the author of The Black Witch, Micheal Rivers. Rivers is a USMC veteran and served in Viet Nam. He currently lives in the mountains of North Carolina. Rivers has over 30 years experience investigating paranormal activity. His genres include horror and thriller with an element of paranormal in all of his novels. He is the lead investigator and founder of The Smokey Mountain Ghost Trackers of Western North Carolina.
You can find Micheal Rivers at michealrivers.com.

The Black Witch (Curse of the Witch) by Micheal Rivers is available now at Amazon

The Digital Ink Spot: I see you are from North Carolina. Is it a scary state?

Micheal Rivers: There are times when it can be a scary state for some. Unexplained phenomena can be difficult for people to comprehend what they are seeing. North Carolina has an abundance of reported hauntings and poltergeist activity. The history of North Carolina is long and filled with the relics of the past that were here when the wars were fought for American independence. The belief is that spirits will attach themselves to these things and make themselves known.

The Digital Ink Spot: What kinds of paranormal activity have you witnessed?

Micheal Rivers:  How many days do you have available to talk? Over my lifetime I have been witness to poltergeists activity, unexplained voices we call EVP’s, or electronic voice phenomena, and the holy grail of hauntings two full body apparitions. Partial apparitions have been experienced dozens of times. My favorite of all of them is to feel the touch of an unseen hand. You can actually see the material being touched move in front of witnesses.

The Digital Ink Spot: What do think is the truth behind paranormal things?

Micheal Rivers:  A large majority of reported paranormal activity can be debunked finding the cause or effect for the event in question. It has been my finding that for some unfathomable reason intelligent haunts have produced answers to question with very accurate facts to back up their claims as to who they once were. Others seem to be residual hauntings with the same scene, usually traumatic, being replayed over and over again. I think the spirits via the laws of physics have somehow found a way to use kinetic energy to reproduce themselves or their voices. This may very well prove there are other planes of existence that coincide with us as suggested by Albert Einstein and others.

The Digital Ink Spot: What have you read that stood out to you and why?

Micheal Rivers:  I have an avid interest in Archeology and read what I can get my hands on whenever possible. I read about what was discovered by German scientists concerning the age of the Sphinx in Egypt. The secrets they discovered told about a civilization that existed 5,000 years before the Egyptians and were a highly advanced society. It gives credence to the fact how far off we are with the history of the world as we know it today. Discovered close to the same time through DNA was a mummy with traces of cocaine and cinnamon. These are two products from two different cultures that were never known to associate with the Egyptians. How did these so called primitive civilizations know about engineering feats that we cannot reproduce with the same accuracy? All of the civilizations before us believed strongly in the world of spirits. What did they know that we do not? I want to know and understand the clues they have left for us to follow.

The Digital Ink Spot: What can readers expect from you in 2012?

Micheal Rivers:  This is an exciting year. My novel Verlige (E-pub) will be the first to be released in March. This will be followed by a new publication of folklore from the mountains of North Carolina. This is being released by Schiffer Publishing Ltd. In the interim I am working on the sequel to The Black Witch. These will be paranormal thrillers.

Living With the Dead: Year One by Joshua Guess @JoshuaGuess

Living With the Dead is a serialized story of everyday life at the beginning of and during the zombie apocalypse. Its original format was and is an almost daily blog.

Told in the author's own voice, LWtD is the story of a group of survivors in central Kentucky, working to stay alive amid the violence and chaos of a crumbling civilization. Faced with threats and challenges that tax their endurance and force them to make terrible choices, the story follows the survivors day to day.

From the viewpoint of one man and his friends, the answer to the question of what people will become when the rules no longer apply begins to emerge. For some, it is violent conflict.

For others who only want to live in peace, this is a journey toward understanding that in a world of the dead, the only choice is to truly live.

Interview with Ron Savarese @findtheopening

The Digital Ink Spot interviewed author Ron Savarese, author of The Opening. He resides in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife and their two dogs. They have two adult sons. He is a professional financial advisor, executive/life coach, and a certified meditation instructor.
After a series of life-changing events and wake-up calls, Savarese decided to return to his passion of writing and storytelling. He is currently working on the sequel to The Opening. Ron Savarese can be found at www.findtheopening.com

The Digital Ink Spot: What kind of research did you do for your story The Opening?

Ron Savarese: Well, on one hand you could say I've been doing research about life after death or "life after life" (which is the way I like to think about it and is one of the major threads of the book) since as far back as I can remember.

My mom passed away just after I turned four years old. I think I've been looking for her ever since. So I've been on a quest to discover what happens when we die for a long time.

I've been exploring higher states of consciousness through meditation for over 30 years and I studied with dozens of thought leaders on the topic. A few examples are: Deepak Chopra (he explored the topic in his book, Life After Death - The Burden of Proof) and his staff at The Chopra Center. Chris Griscom’s (The Light Institute - Past Life Regression.) Chris came into the public spotlight after Shirley MacLaine wrote about her work in her book Dancing in the Light.

One of my most profound experiences took place in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico working with Dr. Beverly Nelson, Joseph Dispenza, and Eduardo Morales, R.P.P., from LifePath Retreats. Eduardo guided a small group of us through an underwater re-birthing process – that’s a story in and of itself. Suffice it to say, that experience opened up some doors and windows on an experiential level that I incorporated into the book.

Finally, I spent a good bit of time with a close friend, an MD/Anesthesiologist, digging into what would happen from a medical perspective to someone who was trapped in the snow and freezing to death. Even though the story is a type of spiritual fantasy I wanted it to be as realistic as possible.

So I would say my research for the book was both experiential and scientific.

The Digital Ink Spot: Does this story mimic your own spiritual journey?

Ron Savarese: In many ways, yes. It's the typical hero's journey as described by Carl Yung or Joseph Campbell – a journey many of us experience at some point in our lives. You can break this journey down into three simple stages: Departure, Initiation, and Return. Of course, these stages have their sub-stages, which go deep into the human psyche and consciousness, but we’ll stay somewhat surface level here.

In the first stage (Departure) we are separated from our known world and the true Self (Capital S). This departure is sometimes considered a person's low point, and it is often caused by a fall, a failure, or some form of suffering. I like to
think of it as the point when we become keenly aware of our own inner and outer worlds and selves, and transition either consciously or unconsciously between the two.

That’s exactly what happens to the protagonist, Joe St. John.

In the second stage (Initiation) we confront trials or a series of tests, tasks, or ordeals that we must undergo to begin our transformation, and it’s not uncommon to fail one or more of these tests.

But the good news is that if we persist through these tests ultimately we experience a metaphorical type of death of the false self and we are reborn into our true Selves and we can commune with the world of spirit, and move beyond the world of opposites and duality and get glimpses of divine knowledge, love, compassion and bliss. This is a god-like state. Here we experience a type of heaven on earth, a transcendent like state where we drink the elixir of life itself and realize we are truly immortal beings at the soul level.

In this story the protagonist is given an opportunity to see his life from this elevated perspective.

In the third stage (Return) we realize we have traversed the realms of angels and god (or gods), and we have tasted the nectar of everlasting life. We have achieved a balance between the material and spiritual and most importantly we have become comfortable and competent with both our inner and outer worlds.

The big question now is can we return to our former life with all its trials and tribulations?

The answer is yes because we have achieved a type of mastery that leads to freedom from the fear of death because we realize there is no death, which in turn gives us the freedom to truly live. This is sometimes referred to as present moment awareness or living in the moment. At this point we are neither anticipating the future nor caught up with the past.

This is what Richard Rohr so eloquently describes as “living in the second half of life” in his book Falling Upward.

So ultimately, in my story, if the reader reads deeply enough, they will see that the protagonist (and indeed many of us) are confronted with this choice: Do we save our own lives (our false/ego selves) or do we give them up for something we may not yet quite understand (our true Selves) and fulfill our destiny and purpose? I believe this is our calling. It takes great trust to master the third stage.

In my story, Joe St. John is confronted with this choice. And in my own life I have been confronted with this choice and I’m trying my best to consciously work through it and grow with it on a daily basis.

The Digital Ink Spot: What do you want readers to get from The Opening?

Ron Savarese: Don’t be afraid of falling, failing, or suffering. These things can be “openings” to higher states of consciousness. And these “openings” to heaven on earth can be found in several ways: learning how to meditate, spending time in nature, immersing yourself in activity where you lose track of time, prayer, etc.

As his soul hovers between life and death, a man with an intriguing past is confronted with a momentous decision.

Joe St. John is reeling from a string of bad investments and his wife’s battle with cancer. All he wants is a little peace. But the only place he’s been able to find it lately is at the bottom of a bourbon bottle.

Joe’s wife persuades him to take their family back to his hometown to celebrate Christmas. After a night of hard drinking at a local pub with some old high school buddies, Joe stumbles out into a howling blizzard too inebriated to realize he shouldn’t attempt the walk to his cousin’s home.

A child’s voice coming from inside the storm, and a fateful misstep, change everything in the world Joe thought he knew.

Now he will discover the truth about life and death, and be confronted with the ultimate choice: save his own life, or give it up for someone he loves.

These things can lead us to a deeper, more fulfilling way of life with less stress and strife, and more peace and joy. Many of us live in a type of dream-like state dominated by our own egos. But the good news is that we can awaken, that is, we can wake-up and experience a type of heaven on earth and from this place give our unique gifts talents to the world.

The Digital Ink Spot: It sounds like you have a busy life. How do you find the time to write?

Ron Savarese: Yes, I have a busy life. But many of us, especially in western society have busy lives. I complain a lot about not having time to write. But in reality I believe the tension is good for me. I believe it helps my writing.

You may have heard that some writers are told, “Don’t give up your day job.” To me this means don’t give up the tension of living in the world, of being busy with life, because that’s what provides “grist for the mill” and provides fodder for great storytelling.

I’d like to be able to say I have cabin the woods where I go to write, or I try to write 1000 words day, or that I have some kind of special formula, but the truth is that I work at small desk in my home in the city of Atlanta. And I seem to work best under a deadline and when I know I have to turn out so many words a day or a week to finish a project, I get into writing mode and I’m able to crank it out.

The Digital Ink Spot: What can readers expect from you in 2012 and beyond?

Ron Savarese: I’ll spend some time speaking to groups and talking to book clubs about the topics in the book. I’ve been approached by a large men’s organization to create a workbook. And I’m currently working on a sequel to The Opening. With a little luck, it will be published sometime in 2013.

Interview with Nadina Boun @nadinaboun

Nadina Boun has been influenced by the 17th and 18th century French authors and playwrights such as Racine, Corneille, Moliere, as well as LaFontaine, Rousseau and Beaudelaire as well as her favorite, Shakespeare. You can see the classic form of poetry in her poetry collection, A Heartstorm: a window to the soul in poetic forms. She has been writing for more than 12 years in genres including poetry, short stories and fiction. Her first publication is a satire short story called The Thinking Man, Paralysis by Analysis.

The Digital Ink Spot:
You have studied classic literature. How does it influence your style?

Nadina Boun: Yes, I have studied French literature. As such I write long complex sentences with much detail like the French. As I have learnt to read, I also prefer writing in rhymed verse even when I write plays. I also tend to follow the old poetry style and layout when writing.

The Digital Ink Spot: In your book, A Heartstorm. You subtitled it: a window to the soul in poetic forms. Was it hard to expose so much of yourself?

Nadina Boun: Given that a poem is a feeling in my opinion, I wanted to shield these feelings for a very long time, but on the rare occasions when I had the opportunity to witness the reaction of some readers, I realized that we all have feelings. It was hard of course but it was also a collection of many years passed, during which I have grown and matured through pain as well as understanding. If another can learn something from these poems then it would be a pleasure to have laid them out in the open. Now these feelings are no longer mine, for letting them out meant also letting them go. Now they are the readers' to interpret as they wish.

The Digital Ink Spot: The poems in this collection, did you write them in the heat of the moment or are they more reflections?

Nadina Boun:
I never know when I am about to write a poem. I will have to say they were a combination of both; a reaction that has stirred an emotion that I needed to record in words, or perhaps an idea or thought or analysis that fluttered in my mind's vision and has propelled me to write it down.

The Digital Ink Spot: You describe yourself as, "I am the rebel, the lonesome warrior and the butterfly." What does this mean to you?

Nadina Boun: I am the rebel because I rarely follow and always question, the lonesome warrior that we all are, for alone we fight our battles, and the butterfly because I am always in need of change and always in search for something new. It is merely how I came to understand myself to be.

The Digital Ink Spot: What can we expect from you this year?

Nadina Boun: I already have the counter part of "A Heartstorm" ready for the month of love and lovers, a book dedicated to the positive and inspirational side of love: The four letters of Love due for release on January 31st on Amazon.
I am not sure what is next, poetry or else, but I can say that in the past two years my style of writing has also changed, so that my new poetry may not look at all like my growing pain collection and will include much more universal thoughts or brutal reality truths (as my friend likes to say).

Angelic Wisdom Trilogy by Richard Holmes @atmicsplendour

This wonderful trilogy of angelic insights started life back in 2002, and was originally three separate volumes. It is a delightful piece of work that allows the reader to take a peek into the very souls of these truly amazing celestial beings that we like to refer to as angels. The first part of the book goes into great detail as to how the angels function and what they actually do for the Earth and mankind in general. Part two gives a deep insight into spiritual (natural) law and answers the kind of questions that tend to keep the average mere mortal frustrated and in the dark. For example, have you ever wondered why you continuously seem to attract the same kinds of people into your life that always causes you hurt and pain? This question and many more are dealt with within the pages of part two. There are also question and answer sessions in parts one and two, between the author and his celestial guardian, that are both thought provoking and interesting to say the least. Finally, part three consists entirely of such a session and deals with matters that the author felt remained unanswered from the previous two volumes. This book will change your life; you can’t afford NOT to read it.

Review - The Strange Case of Finley Jayne (The Steampunk Chronicles) by Kady Cross @KadyCross

The moment I finished The Strange Case of Finley Jayne the prequel to The Steampunk Chronicles. I had to ask the author about more stories with Finley. You can read that here:

I don't have a lot of experience reading steampunk. I started a podcast once but that was soon dropped by the producers and I never finished the story. I had no reason to read this but after reading a few tweets from the author and I watched an interview she had done and I thought that she seemed like an interesting person and I gave her book a chance.

It a novella length and moves very quickly too. I finished it in less than a day. I was sad it did end. I love the Finley character, she is young and inquisitive with a strange power that has yet to be fully developed. She reluctantly uses this power to protect those in need. We are first thought to believe this will push her from society but someone hears of her goodness and her power then brings her into society.

The mystery is well planned out and comes to an exciting end. Kady Cross does an excellent job at story telling. I will be looking for the next chapter in the The Steampunk Chronicles - The Girl in the Steel Corset.

Majesty's Offspring by AJ Vega @ajvegawriter

In the end, it was our children that saved us.
They sacrificed themselves to stop that bitch from having children of her own.”

General Hugo Valdez
United Earth Parliament (UEP) Planetary Infantry Corps
January 2074

More than a century ago, UEP Captain Julius Verndock helped end a galactic war with Majesty—the first truly living machine, thanks to manmade artificial intelligence. For decades, Majesty and humanity had lived together in harmony, with mankind reaping the benefits of a world free of disease, famine, and even aging.

But when Majesty decided she wanted to “birth” her own A.I. offspring creation, a joint interplanetary military effort fought and finally defeated her, then eradicated all existing artificial intelligence … or so they thought.

Today, in 2213, Julius Verndock is still a captain—but now he’s the commander of the Sea Wolf, a spaceship used to advance its crew’s life of piracy. As Julius and his business partner, Laina Edwards, begin to each think about leaving the pirate life behind, their hopes for a peaceful retirement are shattered … by an A.I. being who calls herself Chorus and claims to be the “daughter” of Majesty.

With universal uproar over the discovery of A.I. and the danger it poses, Julius and the rest of the Sea Wolf contingent have no one to trust—but Chorus, and she insists that she wants only peace between mankind and herself.

Hunted by warring factions—and an even greater, more mysterious threat—Julius, Laina, and their colorful crew of fellow pirates must protect Chorus or risk letting her fall into the wrong hands to unleash galactic Armageddon...

A Higher Court: One Man's Search for the Truth of God's Existence by John Betcher @JohnBetcher

GOLD MEDALIST 2010 ELIT BOOK AWARDS. BOOK OF THE YEAR FOR 2010 AT READERS CHOICE REVIEWS SILVER MEDALIST 2011 READERS FAVORITE BOOK AWARDS.

My name is William Kensey. I have a wife and two great kids. Until very recently, I was a well-respected and financially successful trial attorney. I was also a man who was comfortable with his religion. I preferred it served at arm's length from the pulpit on Sunday morning. And would rather not discuss it the rest of the week. The circumstances that led me to write A HIGHER COURT changed all that. The entire experience was both bizarre and unavoidable. You see, I was summoned to serve as a juror in an improbable trial -- a trial to determine whether God exists. I know. You think that sounds ludicrous. I did, too . . . until the trial began. Witnesses buried me under mountains of scientific evidence. My own eyes forced me to confront the reality of extreme human suffering. God seemed less and less relevant -- even absent -- as the trial progressed. At the close of the trial, I had to render my verdict -- "God" or "No God." Affirm a new and deeper faith in a Creator, or confess the triumph of science. A HIGHER COURT is the story of how I discovered the ultimate truth. I invite you to join me in this revelation. You won't be sorry.
